With more taxpayers filing their returns electronically each tax season, and 46.6 million returns this year, the steady increase in data might have challenged the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) heritage systems. However, Acentia’s successful modernization of the IRS’s legacy applications allows for timely and seamless processing of taxes each year. This past season, the IRS issued more than 40 million tax refunds, an increase of more than six percent compared to the same time last year and nearly 90 percent of these refunds were directly deposited into taxpayers’ accounts.
Acentia has over 23 years of experience serving the IRS, providing deep institutional knowledge and experience. Our technical innovations and thought leadership support the IRS in updating, modernizing, and maintaining mission critical applications supporting the Tax Filing Season and Tax Processing Modernization. We support implementation of legislative mandates, such as the Affordable Care Act and yearly tax law updates.
